Suitable for 5 - 7 years

Our infant classes run for 45 minutes and are structured to include an element of fitness development aimed with improving mobility, co-ordination and motor skills.


Our age specific syllabus will help build confidence and discipline as well as listening and concentration skills.


Gradings for advancement take place three times a year and the students will be tested on their understanding of the syllabus.

Junior classes run for 1 hour and are designed to encourage discipline and etiquette and build confidence.


The junior syllabus is structured to develop fitness and includes more advanced self defence techniques appropriate to their age group.


Gradings for advancement take place three times a year where the student's will be tested on their syllabus knowlegde and technical ability.

The intermediate classruns for 1 hour and includes more demanding fitness designed to improve stamina and develop controlled aggression.


The syllabus is structured to prepare them for the adult class and includes realistic self defence with practical techniques that will give the students the confidence to deal with situations realtive to their age group.


Gradings for advancement take place twice a year and students will be tested for attitude, understanding of their syllabus and technical ability.

Suitable for 16+ years

Senior class runs for 2 hours and includes fitness developments for endurance and stamina as well as a comprehensive syllabus catering for complete beginners to seasoned practitioners.


We are not a Marial Sports Club... we don't do competitions our Ju-Jitsu is very real and very practical for self defence.


Gradings for advancement take place twice a year and are specifically designed to test the candidate's technical competence whilst under duress.

Our self defence classes are suitable for men and women, there's nothing fancy to see here just practical and effective techniques that will keep you safe.


You will learn simple but devastating techniques how to sucessfully defend yourself, we will teach you to controll and restrain aggressors.


We cater for in-house seminars with 8 - 10 week courses for corporate or educational establishments.


Participants will take part in a final exam and all successful participants will be awarded a certificate of completion.

Club Rules (Revised June 2024)

  1. Personal hygiene is paramount due to the   

  close and personal nature of Ju-Jitsu, it is   

  considered polite to be clean for training.


  a) Personal Cleanliness: All students should   

  wash their hands and feet, shave facial hair, 

  clean teeth and clip finger and toe nails in 

  preparation for training.

       

  b) Clothing: Your dogi should be washed and    

  pressed after each training session in 

  readiness for the next training session.


  2. Politeness and good manners is of high  

  importance to all members of the   

  organisation.

       

  a) You should arrive promtly for your lesson, 

  neither arriving too early (unless you are an 

  approved classroom assistant) nor too late. 

  The organisation understands that   

  occasionally some delays are unavoidable 

  such as home and work commitments, it is 

  accepted that students will contact the 

  senior instructor as soon as possible if you 

  are going to be late or unable to attend class.

       

  b) Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated

  under any circumstances inside the dojo, any 

  member found using verbal abuse, 

  intimidation and / or threatening behaviour 

  will removed from the dojo and their  

  membership revoked.


  3. Courtesy will be shown to all instructors 

  and members irrespective of rank.

       

  a) You should stand and raise your hand if 

  you require assistance during training, it is 

  dangerous to move around the dojo trailing 

  instructors, they will come to you if you need 

  help or assistance.

       

  b) You should adopt a relaxed but polite   

  stance whilst under instruction from your  

  sensei, feet shoulder width apart and left  

  hand crossed over right in front NOT behind   

  your back, also arms should NEVER be folded 

  as this is considered very impolite and  would  

  imply boredom or arrogance.

       

  c) You should always bow to your instructor 

  before and after receiving instruction as well 

  as bowing to your partner before and after   

  training as this shows mutual respect.  

       

  d) It is the  responsibility of the student to 

  ensure they familiarise themselves with all 

  matters relating to dojo etiquette, 

  procedures and ceremonies.


  4. You should be properly dressed prior to 

  entering the dojo, this includes wearing  

  appropriate groin protection, Zori sandals 

  and correctly tied Obi. 

  Organisation fleeces are permitted during   

  winter months only.

       

  a) All jewelry, including earrings, piercings, 

  watches, necklaces, bracelets and rings   

 must be removed prior to entering the dojo.

  

  Changing Inside the Dojo is NOT permitted


  5. Zori sandals should always be worn inside 

  the dojo, bare feet or outdoor footwear is not 

  permitted and your feet should be washed 

  prior to entering the dojo.


  6. You should always approach the dojo   

  entrance empty handed and bow into and 

  out of the dojo. You should also always bow  

  onto and off of the tatami.

     

  a) You are permitted to bow yourself onto the 

  tatami if there are no senior students   

  (Sempai - Shodan Ho) or higher rank already 

  present.

     

  b) You must be permitted onto the tatami by 

  any senior student of higher rank if already 

  present on the mat.

     

  c) If arriving late for your lesson you should   

  await in Sai Zuar position for permission to be 

  admitted onto the tatami.


  7. All ranked students and instructors will be 

  acknowledged when entering the dojo in 

  acending order, unless the founde and 

  senior instructor is already present inside the   

  dojo.


  8. Any / all administration must be  

  completed with the club registrar upon 

  arrival at the dojo.


  9. Students should NOT leave the tatami or 

  dojo unless permitted to do so by the senior 

  instructor.


  10. Any student requiring 1st aid or medical 

  assistance must inform the senior instructor 

  immediately, where, if required, an accident 

  form will be completed.

    

  a) Any illnesses, ailments or injuries should 

  be noted on the students application form.

    

  b) Any developing injuries must be notified 

  to your class instructor prior to commencing 

  your lesson.


  11. Food and drink are NOT permitted inside 

  the dojo except for hydration purposes only.  

   

  a) Water is the ONLY accepted form of 

  hydration fluid, all others such as (including   

  but limited to) fizzy drinks, Viper and isotonic 

  type drinks are excluded,keep them for your  

  recovery process.

   

  b) Absolutely NO smoking in the dojo.


  12. Children are NOT permitted in the dojo, 

  unless they are a member attending their 

  class.

   

  a) We respectfully request that all family   

  members vacate the dojo during class times.

   

  b) Running is not permitted inside the dojo 

  unless requested to do so by the class 

  instructor as part of a warm up / down routine.

Terms & Conditions for Club Membership (Revised June 2024)

1) All Members* must complete a current Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojos application before being allowed to participate in lessons or club activities. Please also refer to our GDPR Policy document for details on How We Handle Personal Information.


2) Annual membership fee (Non Refundable) includes Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu License and insurance is payable on the student’s** second lesson.

 

3) All applicants under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to complete the membership and enrolment process.


4) Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojos will, upon receipt of the Students** annual fees, issue a licence complete with an insurance certificate. 


5) Training fees are payable monthly in advance via standing order on the first training day of each new calendar month irrespective of holidays, sickness or the member’s* ability to attend lessons. 

         a) Training fees are calculated over 12 month period (Jan–Dec) which includes occasional club closure (including but not limited to: Bank Holiday Weekends, four weeks during summer (Dates TBC) and two Weeks during Christmas & New Year period).

         b) Non payment of training fees will automatically cancel the student’s** membership.

         c) Member’s* (or parents of) are solely responsible for the management of their standing order and must therefore take responsibility for cancellation of monthly training fees upon their termination of membership. Fudoshin Ju-jutsu can not be held liable or be expected to refund any over payment once membership has ceased. In the interests of fairness any student that decides to terminate their membership will be verbally reminded to cancel their standing order at the time of their notification.

 

6) Adult students** will be issued with a License and an Attendance book for the purpose of recording points awarded towards the student’s next grading exam.


7) Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojos requires all students** to wear a Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu regulation uniform complete with all current insignia badges and logos without exception.


8) In the interests of health and safety all students are required to use only regulation weapons and equipment as approved by Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu club instructors.


9) As part of Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojos child protection policy it is required that any child student under the age of eighteen attending lessons must be brought to (no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the lesson commencing) and collected (no later than 10 minutes after the lesson concludes) from the Dojo’s registration desk by their parent or guardian.


10)  The organisation (Fudoshin Ju-jitsu Dojos) reserve the right to refuse, decline or revoke membership of any member / student at anytime.


Appendixes


Member*  means any student who has completed the required registration procedure and completed any necessary 

                payment.


Student** means Infants aged between 5 & 7 years of age, Juniors aged between 8 & 12 years of age,

                Intermediates aged 13 - 16 years of age and Adults aged 16 - 75 years of age.


Uniform*** means high quality white V neck dogi complete with embroidered Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu insignia for all Junior students up to the age of 16yrs or high quality white, 14oz brush cotton wrap over dogi  complete with Obi (belt) for all  students over the age of 16yrs. 

This uniform can be purchased from the club instructor.


GDPR Policy (Revised 2024)

1) All Members* must complete a current Fudoshin Ju-Jitsu Dojos application before being allowed to participate in lessons and as 

    such the following information will be required and kept on our secure database until such time that the student's membership 

    ceases.


2) A head and shoulder photograph is required for student** identification purposes and for future certificates.

       a) Student photographs may require updating annually and as such any previous head and shoulder images will be removed 

           from our electronic database. Paper records are no longer used.

   

3) Personal details required for membership purposes are as follows…

        a) Full Name

        b) Date of Birth, required for class allocation as follows Infant ages 5-7yrs, Juniors ages 8-12yrs, Intermediates ages 13-16yrs, 

            Senior Class 16+yrs (These age categories are used a guide line only.)

        c) Permanent residential address including Postal Code

        d) Personal telephone number (or Family contact, if student is under 18 years)

        e) Emergency Contact telephone number (required for all members)

         f) Email address for conveying club information only.


4) None of the Personal details required in Item 3 as above will be passed or sold to 3rd parties.

    

5) All personal and / or sensitive information of our student membership is kept on a secure electronic database.


6) Only the senior instructor and club registrar have access to the secure electronic database.


7) Current members may request to view their personal details kept on our secure database anytime.


8) Once membership has ceased (or in extreme circumstances revoked) all personal information as per items 2 and 3 will be 

    permanently deleted, If at a later time membership is applied for again all relevant information will be required as per any new 

    member.


9) Any club photographs*** are taken with parental verbal consent (for students under 16 years of age) at the time and will be made 

    available to students and or parents / guardians to view and if requested will be deleted from our electronic database.

      a) Any images, photos or videos once uploaded to our website or social media sites will be available to view in the public domain.


        Appendixes


Member* means any student who has completed the required registration documentation and completed any necessary payment.

Student** means Infants aged between 5 & 7 years of age, Juniors aged between 8 & 12 years of age, Intermediates aged 13 - 16 

                 years of age and seniors aged 16 - 75 years of age.

Photos*** means any photographic or video image taken of Student/s taken during group class activities and / or of individuals in 

                receipt of awards such a Certificate Presentations or Students of the Month. Photograpic images will be kept on the secure 

                database and may be used for club information or promotional purpose only and will not be passed or sold to 3rd parties.
